REVIEWS .....new single 'Funny Break (One is Enough) is Orbital near their best, melding a pop melody to the sigh of family friend Naomi Bedford. The
Mexican (local hip hop legend Mex) flipping the script and producing a
folk track (with the exquisite vocals of local girl Naomi Bedford)
and finally......"Imagine a sort of cross between an infinitely less annoying Alanis Morrissette stuck in a blender with a less twee Sheryl Crow, a less insipid Dido and less hippyish Edie Brickell. What you end up with is a memorably excellent vocals and lilting melodies in a calming, uplifting, folk-pop backing. I suppose the closest comparison would be Kristin Hersh for not-remotely-crap folk-pop. Check them out next time they're playing" Naomi and Andy Bramley (Hex's writer and guitarist) were one of eight to he short-listed, last year (2000), for the times newspaper songwriter of the year competition.
